151 kilometers. One Purpose. Hope for Children.
On September 2, Gary Chesney will begin a 151-kilometers journey along the Camino Francés from Ponferrada to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
He is walking to raise $25,000 or more for Homes of Love to help provide 10 new children with safe, loving families and hope for their future. Every dollar raised will go directly to bringing new children into the love and care of a Homes of Love family! Here is what this mission matters.
Why Homes of Love?
More than 25 years ago, Gary and Debbie Chesney founded Homes of Love out of a simple but unshakable belief: God intends that every child be raised in a family.
Around the world, children face circumstances they did not choose. Some have lost parents. Others have experienced poverty, instability, or situations that have left them without the security every child needs.
Homes of Love believes children need more than food, clothing, or a roof over their heads.
They need family. They need hope.
Homes of Love works alongside local leaders in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe to provide children with safe, loving families where they can grow, receive an education, discover their worth, and build a hopeful future.
Every child deserves a family. Every child deserves hope.

FAQs
Why is Gary hiking the Camino instead of just asking for donations directly?
1
Gary chose to walk 151 kilometers because the journey itself tells the story. In the spring, Gary had a knee replacement and because of God’s provision and healing, Gary has made a full recovery and now able to do this hike! Just as pilgrims on the Camino walk toward hope and purpose, children in the care of Homes of Love are on their own journey toward safety, family, and a future. Every mile Gary walks is a tangible reminder of the distance between where a vulnerable child starts and where love can bring them.
Every dollar raised through Hiking for Homes goes directly to bringing new children into the love and care of a Homes of Love family. Your gift helps provide a child with a safe home, a family who loves them, an education, and hope for their future.
